This is an antique Dixie Banjolele. I don't know much about it except what I got off the internet. It was my roommate's grandfather's. It is all Metal and has Dixie on the top and patent pending made in the u.s.a on the back. I do not know what kind of condition it is in, since I'm not a musician, but it definetley will need new strings. Thanks for looking.
Most are built of wood with metal accoutrements, although the mid-century "Dixie" brand featured banjoleles made from solid metal. The banjolele neck typically has sixteen frets: shorter than a banjo, but longer than a standard soprano or concert sized ukulele. Banjo ukuleles may be open-backed, or may incorporate a resonator.
